Supporting water safety awareness activities
On Tuesday 19th October, we were invited to attended the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service Public Safety Officers meeting at Thirsk Fire Station to demonstrate our mini flume and to explore how it can be used in water safety awareness activities.
The Public Safety Officers experimented with the flume, trying different combinations of model engineered structures and other hazards found in the water environment.
The mini flume provides a visual demonstration of the types of hazards that can be found in the water environment and as such is an effective tool to complement water safety and educational activities.
