Mini flume training and water safety

On Thursday 14th October, we delivered a mini flume training session to members of the Yorkshire Dales National Park education team and volunteers at the Grassington Devonshire Institute.

The training included the set up and operation of the flume, exploring how engineered structures affect the flow of water in rivers and what happens in flood conditions. A particular focus was given to water safety and how the mini flume can be used to demonstrate the various risks present in the water environment.
