Primary pupils explore career opportunities

On Tuesday 25th May, we supported a careers carousel event for Year 5 pupils at Greatwood Primary School in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

The event aimed to open up the world of work to encourage and inspire pupils to think about what job they might like to do in the future. Representatives from local businesses and organisations shared their careers stories with pupils and provided an insight into their world.

Rosie Rogers from JBA Consulting volunteered to take part in the event, talking to small groups of children about her work in flood risk management in a series of 10 minute sessions.

Rosie commented “The children were really engaged and interested to learn about flood risk in their local area. They had some great contributions when we discussed the impacts of flooding and how we might better protect our community in future.”
