Inspiring future career choices

The JBA Trust large hydraulic flume was in action at the Greater Peterborough University Technical College freshers’ event on 9th September 2019.

The event introduced year 10 and year 12 students to local employers to give them an idea of how their studies could be used in careers in industry.

Staff from JBA Consulting demonstrated the flume to students. Lance Dawkins from JBA Consulting commented:

“Students enjoyed seeing how different engineered structures and obstacles influence flow in the flume, and how this is applicable to real world issues in rivers. They were really interested to hear staff talk about their varied roles at JBA and how different disciplines work together on a wide range of projects.”
