Working with North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to create water safety resources

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has launched three new videos focusing on different elements of water safety to coincide with Drowning Prevention Week from 18 to 25 June 2022.

We are delighted to support the water safety awareness video project, creating a video using the new water safety flume which we developed in partnership with North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Hydrotec Consultants.

The videos and water safety demonstration flume will be used to raise water safety awareness with a wide range of audiences, including schools and communities.

All three videos are available to view on the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue YouTube channel, the water safety demonstration flume video can also be viewed on the JBA Trust YouTube channel.

The flume includes a range of natural and man-made river features including a waterfall, stepping stones, weirs, bridges, culverts and culvert screens. By adding these features to the flume, it’s possible to see how they affect the flow of water and the associated safety hazards.

Rob Lamb, Managing Director at JBA Trust commented “Awareness of water safety is an important part of reducing risks in the water environment, so we’re delighted to have worked in partnership with North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Hydrotec Consultants to create the water safety demonstration flume and to support the water safety video project.”
