Supporting water safety awareness sessions for secondary school pupils
On Monday 27th September, Upper Wharfedale Secondary School in Threshfield, North Yorkshire, organised a safety awareness day for all Year 8 pupils. Local emergency service organisations ran sessions for pupils on road safety, home fire safety, heart resuscitation, antisocial behaviour, internet safety and water safety.

As part of their water safety sessions, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service used the JBA Trust mini river flume to provide a practical demonstration of the various types of hazards that can be found in a moving water environment.
Bridget Brady from JBA Trust commented:
“We were very pleased to support the water safety sessions, the mini flume provides such a visual demonstration of the types of hazards found in watercourses.”
