Support for CIRIA projects – sharing knowledge and building good practice
JBA has committed to co-funding new projects that are currently being planned and coordinated by CIRIA with the aims of sharing knowledge and good practice relating to flood management and water in the built environment. Through these projects we hope our contribution will be of benefit to those involved in professional practice in flood risk and urban design, and therefore ultimately to local communities.
Water sensitive urban design
CIRIA is developing guidance to help introduce water sensitive urban design (WSUD) into UK practices. This will develop aspirational and visually engaging guidance demonstrating the benefits and practicalities of an integrated approach to sustainable water management using the concepts of WSUD.
Communicating local flood risk
The project aims to develop and facilitate sharing of good practice around communicating local flood risk, covering planning and preparation for flooding, communication during the flood event and recovery after flooding.
