Augmented Reality Sandbox training day at WWT Slimbridge

We were pleased to provide Augmented Reality Sandbox training for staff and volunteers at Slimbridge Wetland Centre on Thursday 13th February.

The sandbox is an extremely interactive visualisation tool which shows how topography affects water moving through a catchment. It will be used for public engagement events at Slimbridge Wetland Centre during February half term and will enable visitors to learn about wetlands in a unique and interactive way.

Bridget Brady from JBA Trust commented:

“It was a pleasure to run sandbox training for the Learning Team at WWT Slimbridge. The sandbox is such an excellent tool for providing hands on learning. By shaping sand to create river catchments and wetlands and then making virtual rain, visitors will be able to experiment and see the affect that topography has on the movement of water, while also considering the wider impacts of land management.”
