National Careers Week

As part of National Careers Week, we’ve been supporting events that raise awareness of engineering as a career choice.

On Friday 10th March, the JBA Trust’s wave tank was in action at the Ruth Gorse Academy in Leeds as part of a a Careers Fair for year 7 to 11 students. Emily Bradley and JBA Consulting colleagues demonstrated the wave tank and talked to pupils about the varied career opportunities within engineering as well as promoting STEM subjects.

Hiltred Sanctis, Assistant Engineer at JBA Consulting commented “Volunteering for the Ruth Gorse Academy careers fair was a good opportunity to promote STEM and encourage students to take up engineering, by sharing our career experience. The drone footage of the Bentley Ings pumping station helped to illustrate the scale of the projects we work on, while the wave tank was a great piece of kit to attract and engage students.”
