Inspiring future innovators at TeenTech Lancashire

This year’s TeenTech Lancashire Festival at Edge Hill University was an inspiring day that brought together hundreds of students, teachers, and industry professionals to explore the world of science, technology, and innovation.

JBA Trust joined over 40 organisations in delivering engaging, hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity. We introduced students to the challenges of flood risk management, using our interactive wave tank to demonstrate how science and engineering can help protect communities and the environment.

Events like TeenTech play a crucial role in connecting students with industry, enabling them to discover diverse pathways into science, technology, and digital careers.

Amber Humphries, Engagement and Communication Officer at JBA Trust said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to speak with young people about careers in STEM and to see their enthusiasm for tackling complex problems with fresh ideas.  I completed my BSc in Geography at Edge Hill and really enjoyed coming back to the university to share my experiences and career pathway in flood resilience.”

We’re proud to support the development of future scientists, engineers and innovators and we look forward to returning next year.  Thanks to Amber Humphries and Sue Jones from JBA Consulting for delivering the wave tank sessions.
