Learning Resources: Weather and climate
Our weather and climate resources focus on understanding the principles of weather monitoring, why it’s important and how this links to weather hazards and our changing climate.
The resources are designed to be used with data recorded by our automatic weather station at our office in Skipton, North Yorkshire.
Our weather station measures air temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall and pressure. In addition, a manual rain gauge is read by our team of brilliant volunteers at 09:00 GMT each day to help calibrate the readings.
Real time weather information is available to view on our weather station dashboard.
We also send our weather data to the Met Office Weather Observation Website (WOW), simply search ‘JBA Trust’.
