Local communities at risk from flooding
We take our hydraulic flume to local communities to help demonstrate how the design and maintenance of culverts and structures in rivers can affect local flooding.
Jeremy Benn and Gary Deakin used the flume at the Flood Awareness Roadshow in Rochdale (photo) to help local people become more aware of how they might be affected by flooding and what they and their families can do to help prepare against the threat of flooding.
The event was organised by Rochdale Council, the National Flood Forum and the Flood Resilience Community Pathfinder Project.
