Water safety demonstration flume
This hydraulic flume shows how water behaves in rivers when it interacts with different features. It provides a powerful demonstration of the associated safety hazards.
Both natural and engineered river features can be placed in the river channel, for example a waterfall, stepping stones, weirs of various designs, bridges, fish passes, culverts and culvert screens.
The following water safety video was made in partnership with the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to support their water safety awareness activities.
