Who we help
By working in partnership and developing relationships with universities, schools and other charities, we provide support for a wide range of people and organisations.
The Flood Risk Management Community
We promote the latest best practice in design and maintenance of engineered structures in rivers and at the coast to reduce the risks of flooding using our demonstration physical models.
Researchers
We offer opportunities for individuals, especially at an early career stage, to enhance their skills and experience by working on research-based projects with us.
Post-graduate students
We provide scholarships and bursaries to postgraduate students on university courses (MSc or PhD).
We also help MSc students completing their dissertation projects by providing placements, technical expertise, facilitating access to software resources and case study data and supporting the dissemination and publication of their research.
Schools
We work with schools to develop teaching resources for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects and encourage students to participate in STEM subjects and consider the interesting and exciting career opportunities that are available in the water and environmental risk management sector.
